A dispute over territorial dominance among eunuchs in Chandigarh turned ugly when four eunuchs and one head were injured in an alleged acid attack by a rival group on Monday.
The victims, Shabbo, Anisha, Mehak, Madhu and Sunil, were rushed to the Government Multi Specialty Hospital GMSH sector-16, where the condition of the victims is stable. A team of doctors, attending the injured person, said that no serious injuries took place as the acid was of low quality.
Sources in the police said that the incident took place at 12pm while a group of eunuchs went to the residential area of Sector-10 and began demanding money. Suddenly a group of 3-4 masked persons stopped them. The accused first blinded them with chili powder and then threw acid.
The accused were wearing masks, after the attack they smashed the windows of their vehicle and fled away from the spot in a car, said Harjeet Kaur, SHO, PS-3.
