Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) would hold its first meeting after the party’s lok Sabha poll debacle. The meeting would discuss several significant issues concerning the State, besides chalking out the roadmap for the party.

The meeting, convened by the PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa, is expected to be attended by State party unit’s national general secretary in-charge Dr Shakeel Ahmad, secretary in-charge Harish Chaudhary, Congress legislative Party leader Sunil Jakhar, among others.

“The meeting would discuss the impact of Union Budget on Punjab, along with the political situation in the State. The meeting would also talk about shoddy and sham drive of the state government against drugs, besides the situation arising out of severe drought adversely affecting paddy crop and grim power supply,” said PPCC chief Bajwa.

He added that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s “open admission” that the state bureaucrats were not in his control and his allegation that they were busy collecting money, clearly shows his total loss of administrative control.

“Meeting would also chalk out plans to gear up the party. People in the state are fed up with tyrannical Akali Dal-BJP government, and this is the high time to go into action and articulate the concerns of the people and fight for the issues concerning them,” he added.
