Even as the Haryana BJP has objected to Punjab Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's proposed election campaign for Indian National lok Dal, party leader Abhey Singh Chautala on Thursday said they have family relations with the Punjab Chief Minister.
“Badal and we have family relations for a long time and he will campaign for our candidates,” Abhey, son of party chief Om Prakash Chautala said. Badal is expected to attend the proposed mammoth rally of INlD on September 25 in Jind to mark the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Devi lal.
BJP, an ally of SAD in Punjab, had opposed the move of INlD to rope in Badal for election campaign in Haryana. State BJP leadership had also written a letter to its high command besides requesting Badal not to campaign in Haryana for INlD candidates.
“We have told our central leadership to resolve the issue. We want that Badal should be stopped from campaigning for INlD and he should not come to Haryana to seek votes for INlD," said Haryana BJP's legislature party leader and Ambala MlA, Anil Vij.
He said that “we have put our point before our central leaders and now it is up to them to resolve the matter”.
INlD has already declared Badal as its star campaigner during the Assembly polls in Haryana.
INlD has a poll pact with SAD and has also given two tickets to it from Ambala City and Kalanwali out of 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana.
Even in the recent lok Sabha polls, Badal had campaigned for INlD in Haryana and in his speeches he claimed that he would make efforts to bring INlD and BJP together. But situation has changed now after the victory of BJP with seven seats out of 10 in Haryana in lok Sabha.
