“Various issues concerned with the SC community pertaining to different departments were debated and instructions were issued to dispose these off in a time bound manner,” said Commission’s chairman Rajesh Bagha after a meeting on Tuesday.

He said that the police department has been directed to submit action taken report on monthly basis regarding atrocities on dalits.

Bagha added that the welfare department has been further instructed to promptly release the scholarship funds of SC students, studying in various colleges, under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme.

He said that the many colleges are denying roll numbers to the SC students owing to the non-release of scholarship funds. “”Officials of the welfare department have been directed to issue a detailed letter to all the colleges asking them to issue roll numbers to such students,” he said.

Bagha said that the Police and Welfare departments have been directed to display boards as per the amendment in the Atrocity Act at public places, police stations, Government offices depicting information about the commission as well as the SC Act in order to ensure easy reach of SC community to the commission in case of need.
