After being booked by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering in a case of re-allocating a plot to the Associated Journal limited in Panchkula in 2005, the former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has termed the case as “political vendetta”.

The Directorate registered a case under provisions of the Prevention of Money laundering Act (PMlA) after taking cognizance of the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau FIR filed on May 5 this year.

Hooda and four other officials of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) have been accused of corruption by a Haryana State Vigilance Bureau FIR that claims that they allegedly re-allocated a plot to the Journal in Panchkula in 2005.

Hooda has said that it is a case of political conspiracy and no rules were violated during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who as the Chief Minister was the ex-officio chairman of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), has been accused of illegally transferring land to Associated Journals ltd., at Panchkula.

Meanwhile, the BJP has also hit out at the former Chief Minister saying that the cases are result of wrong doings of previous Congress government in Haryana.

Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala while talking to the media on Friday said an inquiry was already going on into the case and now, ED has booked Hooda and others on charges of money laundering.

There is no political vendetta in this case  but this is a result of wrong doings of previous Hooda led Congress Government in Haryana, said Barala.
