The controversy over Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar’s remarks on “namaz” refuses to die down in Haryana.

The Congress on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Manohar lal and his cabinet Ministers over the issue, asking them why RSS shakhas are held in open spaces.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while talking to the mediapersons here on Wednesday said, “It is unfortunate that the BJP led State Government instead of dealing with the incidents of disruptions in Friday prayers at Gurugram, is doing politics on the issue.”

The BJP seems to have forgotten that the RSS shakhas are also held in open spaces, said Hooda, who was accompanied by former Haryana Speaker and MlA Kuldeep Sharma and other party leaders.

The senior Congress leader also alleged that the BJP Government is trying to divert the attention of  people with such controversies and trying to hide its failures on all fronts in Haryana.

Over the past two weeks, right-wing outfits have been trying to disrupt Friday prayers in Gurugram alleging that some people were trying to grab land.

The protestors had alleged that Muslim worshippers did not have permission to offer prayers at roadsides, parks and vacant government land in Gurugram.

The Chief Minister, who is currently on a foreign visit, had on Sunday indirectly supported the right-wing groups, saying that namaz should be offered at their designated places.

On the other hand, his Cabinet Ministers including OP Dhankar, Ram Bilas Sharma, Anil Vij among others advocated the idea of using vyayamshalas (gyms) as RSS shakhas (units).

Reacting to the statement, former Speaker of Haryana Assembly, MlA Kuldeep Sharma on Wednesday sought complete ban on RSS activities held at open spaces in Haryana.  “RSS is trying to divide the  society on religion and caste basis. Hence, RSS activities should be banned in open spaces in Haryana, he added.

Attacking the BJP, MlA Karan Singh Dalal  has said that using government funds to promote RSS agenda is highly condemnable. How can the Government use vyayamshalas as

RSS shakhasIJ... This is a conspiracy to divide the society, he said.

After the controversy over the CM’s and his cabinet ministers’ remarks in the past few days, the State Government had a day before announced to provide the status equal to the Minister of State to the chairman of Haryana State Waqf Board, MlA Raheesh Khan, in a bid to appease the minorities in Haryana.

HOODA SEEKS DETAIlS OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN HARYANA

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday asked the Chief Minister Manohar lal to put forth the actual details of foreign investment brought to Haryana and employment generation over the past three years, especially after the Happening Haryana summits and his foreign excursions.

“This government has not shown any record about foreign investments or employment generation in past three years,” said Hooda while talking to the mediapersons here.

He said that this government could not provide jobs to the youth and instead, is busy in wasting public funds with foreign tours. The Chief Minister is again on foreign tour but will return empty handed, he added.

The Chief Minister is currently leading a high level state delegation on a 10-day tour to Israel and United Kingdom.

The two-time former Chief Minister also accused Manohar lal of patronizing corruption in recruitment by continuing Bharat Bhushan Bharti as the head of Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), despite controversies and allegations of corruption.

Hooda also attacked the BJP led Haryana Government for allegedly ignoring the farming community and making misleading claims of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.
