Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat on Sunday called upon the entrepreneurs of the State to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas, so as to maintain pristine and pollution-free environment of the State.
The Governor was addressing the industrialists after inaugurating the ‘Marketing House Unit-II’ of Industrial Unit at Baddi in Nalagargh sub division of Solan district.
Constructed at a cost of `1.5 crore, this small scale unit would provide direct employment to 25 families, besides indirect employment to over 150 families. This unit would manufacture products such as soya nuggets, macaroni, pasta, maize flour, pudding, wheat flour and cattle feed etc.
Acharya Devrat said that the environment of the State was well suited for several types of industries. He said that it was the moral duty of the entrepreneurs to maintain pollution-free environment of the State.
This would also help them in ensuring better quality of their products. The industrialists should ensure maximum possible green cover in industrial area and also draw a long term plan for better waste management, said he.
The Governor said that the industrialists should also come forward to undertake various developmental works in their respective areas, under the corporate social responsibility.
He lauded the efforts of the industrialists for effectively undertaking developmental works in Baddi-Brotiwala-Nalagarh area under corporate social responsibility. He also appreciated the efforts of Marketing House Unit-II for providing 51 dustbins in Baddi area.
The Governor also visited the units and envisaged keen interest in its various operations.
At another function while addressing 42nd annual convention of ‘Himotkarsh Sahitya Sanskriti Avam Jankalyan Parisha’, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that service of mankind and society was the best service and everybody should come forward for betterment of humanity.
The Governor said that it was vital for the youth to keep away from drug abuse. He said that youths were future of any nation and the most vital component of our society.
He also urged the people to come forward in preserving pollution free environment of the State. He also laid stress on organic farming besides raring indigenous cows.
The Governor expressed happiness over effective implementation of programmes like save girl child, girl child education and for taking effective steps in preserving indigenous cattle by the district administration.
