Bringing momentum to the BJP’s campaign in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a series of rallies in the State asking the people to discard dynastic politics and goondashahi and bring in a stable Government.

Slamming the political families of the State, Modi said they have done nothing but only filled their pockets. “Five families have run Haryana until now and it has only benefited these families.

“look at the coalition...they fight in front of people like WWF. They have an agreement that one family will rule for five years while the other family will badmouth the ruling family. In the next elections, other family comes to the power and circle goes on. You have to save Haryana from these goondashahi and dynastic politics,” he said at a rally in Sirsa.

Modi said Sirsa needs integrated development, it needs Railways and road connectivity, Internet connectivity. If the BJP comes to power it will come up with a special model for the progress of the region, Modi said, adding “development is key to progress”.

The Prime Minister said a positive trend was coming out from poll surveys. “All poll surveys and analysis have said the BJP will either be the number one party in Haryana or will get the majority. It is for sure that the next Government will be of the BJP but it is you who has to decide whether you want majority BJP Government,” he said.

As Modi spoke, an enthusiastic crowd, specially youth, cheered him jubilantly. Many of them had worn Modi masks and Modi caps.Speaking in Gurgaon, Modi said India was being feted across the world including the US “not because of Modi but you” as people elected a majority Government in lok Sabha for the first time in 30 years.

“Due to this majority Government, when Modi meets some leader, he doesn’t see Modi but 125 crore Indians. You tell me, do you want Haryana to be lauded like this. If you want this to happen, you must elect a Government having a majority,” he said.He lashed out at the Congress Government and Om Prakash Chautala-led INlD for running the State like a “family fiefdom parcelled out among relatives” and said a BJP regime would propel the State on the path of development.

A mafia culture is prevalent across the State, Modi said, while raking up cases of rape of Dalit women in the State under the Congress rule. The Congress Government, he said, did not even has courage to file an FIR against the criminals indulging in such crimes.

“You give us a chance to serve you. You give us a chance to fulfil your dreams,” he said.

At his Jind rally, Modi urged the people to shun the families that have monopolised power in Haryana by forging “behind-the-scene alliances” for past 25 years. “People of Haryana will not forgive the looters of the State. Five families have ruled the State for last 25 years. Here, they have forged behind-the scene alliances ahead of elections. They have decided amongst themselves that they will loot the State turnwise,” he said.

“Haryana needs freedom from the rule of these families,” the Prime Minister said.

“Embrace us once and I will ensure development of the entire State.... What does a farmer want — water and power — and he will convert his fields into gold mines,” he said in Jind.

“Thousands of crores (of rupees in investments) are coming into India from abroad. Development is the panacea of all ills. We want development of all of Haryana and not just one region,” he added.

Highlighting the law and order situation in the state, Modi said he will ensure security for women. He also talked about the skewed sex ratio in the State and said it needs to be set right. Referring to one-rank one-pension issue, Modi said, as promised, his Government has successfully implemented the scheme.Talking about “political pundits” predicting that it will be a hung Assembly with BJP emerging as the single largest party, he said, “But going by the response of the people to the rallies, including today’s, I can assure them that the

BJP will get a full majority. This strength at today’s rally ensures the victory of the people of the State.”
