PNS

The Haryana Government has decided to issue photo identity cards (IDs) to people who had suffered during the days of the Emergency to enable them to travel free of cost in Haryana Roadways buses.

The victims of Emergency holding the new photo identity cards will also get 75 per cent rebate in Volvo buses from October 2.

A decision to this effect has been taken in compliance of the announcement made by the Chief Minister Manohar lal on June 26, 2015, said a spokesperson of the State Government.

It has also been decided that the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) will publish a draft list of persons, dead or alive, who had suffered during Emergency, which was declared on 25 June 1975 by the then Central Government and lasted up to 21 March, 1977. The draft lists will be published on August 15 and after considering all objections and claims that might be filed with them, these lists would be finalized by August 31.

Also, they will prepare the Photo Identity Cards along with Aadhar Number for every such individual who is alive and is on the final list. The DCs will also prepare separate Photo Identity Cards with Aadhar Number for every such individual who is alive and is a spouse of any person, dead or alive, whose name appears in the final list. The said photo identity cards will be handed over by a senior officer by personally visiting the person’s residence by September 30, said the spokesperson.

He said that ‘Tamra Patras’ for all names appearing on the final list will be prepared by the Deputy Commissioners with assistance of Information and Public Relations Department by December 31. The ‘Tamra Patras’, whether posthumously or otherwise, will be appropriately presented to the persons or their heirs, as the case may be, on January 26, 2016.

The Deputy Commissioners will personally ensure that during the entire process, no person shall be asked to visit any office for any clarification whatsoever. Instead the officers of District Administration will personally visit them for clarification, in case they are any, added the spokesperson.
