Chandigarh police on Saturday claimed to have solved eight theft cases registered with it with the arrest of two youth.
UT police on a special tip off arrested Suraj Verma (19) from Colony-5 and Monu (20) was arrested from Ramdarbar on Friday night for several theft cases against them. Suraj is a resident of Sector-52, while Monu lives at Ramdarbar. During investigation with the duo, they told the police about their involvement in eight thefts in several parts of City in which they had stolen seven two wheelers and one mobile. However no stolen vehicle has been recovered from their possession, said Rajesh Shukla, SHO posted at PS sector-34.
Cases against Suraj and Monu have been registered under section 379, 380 and 441 of IPC. Both on Saturday were produced in district court from where court sent them for judicial custody.
