A day after Leader of Opposition and INLD’s senior leader Abhay Chautala accused his elder brother Ajay Chautala of selling party tickets in 2014 Assembly polls, his nephews Hisar MP Dushyant and Digvijay Chautala hit back at him saying that he (Abhay) is leveling baseless allegations.

“Baseless allegations are being leveled against us. From the past few months, they (INLD) are doing nothing but leveling baseless allegations against us,” said Dushyant, leader of Jannayak Janta Party while talking to the mediapersons.

His younger brother, INSO chief Digvijay said, “Some people are in panic after their defeat in Jind bypoll. My father (Ajay) has never done such things in politics and we follow high principles in politics.”

Lashing out at his uncle, Digvijay said that people are restless due to our increasing popularity and are now running a slander campaign against us. They (INLD) know where we stand after Jind bypoll, he said.

“If he (Abhay) has poison in his heart against his own brother, he can let it out at the family level only,” Digvijay added.

Reacting to the allegations, JJP state president Nishan Singh said that INLD leaders have lost their mental balance after getting just 2.5 per cent votes in the Jind bypoll.

A day before, INLD’s senior leader Abhay Chautala had levelled serious allegations against his elder brother Ajay Chautala, claiming that he sold INLD tickets for Rs 50 Lakh each in three Vidhan Sabha constituencies during the 2014 polls.

Abhay had also alleged that Ajay had entered into a quid pro quo arrangement with our opponents by extending help to them in the 2014 Vidhan Sabha polls in return of the favour they extended to him to help Dushyant Chautala in the Lok Sabha election same year.

After the split in INLD and formation of Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) last year, the Chautala family has been witnessing a bitter feud.

Families of two brother Abhay and Ajay have been engaging in a war of words over various issues.

INLD’s chief OP Chautala elder son- Ajay Singh Chautala -is patron of the JJP while his two sons–Hisar MP Dushyant and Digvijay-are spearheading the party in the absence of Ajay, who is serving a 10-year jail term in connection with the teachers recruitment scam in Haryana.

OP Chautala is also undergoing his jail term in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in the same recruitment scam.

Ahead of ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the split in INLD has proved unfortunate for the party. While JJP’s candidate Digvijay Chautala had finished at second spot in Jind bypoll, the INLD’s candidate Umed Singh Redhu had finished at fifth spot and could not even save his security deposit.

The number of INLD MLAs in the State Assembly has fallen to 17 and four of them have already extended support to the JJP.

Following Jind bypoll, BSP supremo Mayawati has also hinted at breaking ties with the INLD in Haryana ahead of general elections 2019.
