Aam aadmi party’s Punjab unit on Sunday alleged that both Capt Amarinder Singh and the Badals’ are involved in promoting the drug mafia in the State.
On the arrest of Gurdeep Singh Rano in the drug case and his alleged relations with SAD president Sukhbir Badal, Akali MLA Bikram Majithia and Congress leader Capt Sandeep Sandhu, AAP MLA and the Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema said that during the time of the Badals’ the drug mafia was operating under their protection, now they are being patronised by the ruling Congress party.
Cheema said that the large amount of drugs, cash, and cars that were seized by the police prove the fact that the mafia raj is as active as it was during the previous SAD government.
Questioning the Congress-led State Government, Cheema said that how these anti-social elements were still operational under police protection in the State?
Accusing the Capt Amarinder of lying to the people of Punjab, Cheema said that despite promising by the Gutka Sahib to eradicate the mafia raj in Punjab, “Captain has done nothing but protect the Badals”.
“Not only the drug mafia, but the transport, sand, and other mafias are still operating under the aegis of SAD and Congress leaders. This proves that the Congress and the Badals are involved in these criminal activities,” said Cheema adding that Capt Amarinder and the Badals are responsible for ruining the lives of thousands of youths in Punjab.
At the same time, Cheema advised Capt Amarinder Singh to come out of his farm house and look at the ground realities of Punjab.
Commenting on Capt Amarinder’s inaction on the deaths due to illicit liquor in the districts of Majha, Cheema said that it show that Capt Amarinder is promoting the supply of illicit liquor.
Cheema, attacking the Chief Minister, said that the law and order situation has also detonated in Punjab under Capt Amarinder’s watch but he was too busy enjoying his royal lifestyle.
AAP leader appealed to the Government to “strong-arm the mafias” and “file cases against the Badals for their involvement in running the mafia raj”.
