After CBI’s clean chit to former Railway Minister and local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal in Railgate scam, the local BJP leaders are putting forth their displeasure in one way or another.

BJP senior leader and former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan on Wednesday wrote an open letter to Bansal questioning his work for city residents during his tenure.

In his letter to Bansal, Dhawan said, “The Railgate scam has shattered your (Bansal) image of “Mr Clean”. People are raising their finger on your conduct and behaviour because as and when people go to you for some work your patent reply is that “The officers do not listen to you”, whereas, yours and your relatives work is happily done by the same officers.”

He said, “People want and answer from you on the issue of need based changes in the Chandigarh housing board houses, GPA and NOC clauses, traders problems, UT employees problems, industrialist problems, villages problems.”

“All the mega projects like, amusement park, film city, education city, medicity etc. could not see the light of the day because of you. Such projects would have created thousands of jobs for the youth and economy of the cits would have also improved,” he added.

Dhawan alleged, “For years people are suffering from the shortage of water supply and the electricity cuts and you have failed to bring any relief to them. In all departments of the Administration, the corrupt is rampant. No work is done without paying money.”

“The menace of street dogs, cattle, and monkeys is still unsolved in the city.”

“People of the city demand your resignation and you should contest the election to get the clean chit from the people and not from the CBI,” he added.
