To review the preparations for BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Fateh Rally’ at Jagraon on Saturday, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal has decided to hold meetings with party’s district unit workers.
Sukhbir will hold a series of meetings on Wednesday, December 18, at Sangrur, Jagraon and Jalandhar, SAD secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said on Sunday. “The first combined meeting of Sangrur and Barnala districts would be held at 11 am at Gurdwara Nankiana Sahib, Sangrur, followed by another joint meeting of ludhiana rural, urban and Moga districts at 1 pm at Jagraon Sugar Mill Ground which is the venue of Fateh rally,” said Cheema.
“On the same day, third meeting would be held at 3 pm at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Model Town Jalandhar in which leaders and workers from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Kapurthala districts would participate,” he added. Preparations for the rally would be reviewed and necessary directions would be issued in these meetings, he added. The rally, being jointly organised by the SAD and its ally BJP, will also be addressed by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal among others.

The rally, to be held at Jagraon in ludhiana district, will be attended by who’s who of the NDA including former Deputy Prime Minister lK Advani, BJP national president Rajnath Singh, among others. Sukhbir himself is supervising over all the preparations and have already given a wide range of instructions to the party rank and file including the need to ensure that normal traffic was not disrupted in the state on the day of the rally.
For the purpose, various committees, responsible for the arrangements like mobilizing people to rally, arranging breakfast, lunch and tea, vehicle parking and pandal setup, among others, have been formed. In addition, a coordination office, responsible for coordination between these committees, has also been established.
