Haryana Government has given relaxation till December 31, 2015 to the parents to get the name of their children entered in the blank columns of their birth records.
This one time relaxation would be applicable only in those birth cases which have been registered 15 years ago or more. According to a spokesperson, the registration of birth within 21 days is mandatory. However, the name of the child can be entered in the birth record free of cost within one year of the child’s birth.
After one year, but within a period of 15 years name can be got entered on payment of late fee. He said that now the State Government has given relaxation till December 31, 2015 to get the name of the children entered in the blank columns of birth records in those birth cases which has been registered 15 years ago.
The process of registration of name has also been simplified as per which the parents would have to submit a self declaration letter along with education and birth certificates of the child. He said that on the basis of these documents the name of the child could be entered in the blank column of the birth records. He urged the people to avail the benefit of this facility and get the birth record of their children complete with their names mentioned in it.
