Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Tuesday ordered all the Deputy Commissioners of the state to take immediate strict action against the schools who were violating the State Government orders regarding extension of winter holidays due to inclement weather conditions.
“To ensure the health and safety of students and teachers due to extreme cold wave and fog, Punjab Government had extended holidays in all Government and private schools of the state till January 8, 2023…My Office has already received complaints against some private schools which are still opened despite Government's directives,” said the Minister.
Referring to a private school in Ropar district, he said that a show cause notice has been issued to the concerned school in this regard.
“No one will be allowed to overrule the State Government orders and the private schools will lose their affiliation if found defying Government orders,” he made it clear.
