NIT Kurukshetra abides by President’s order to recruit regular faculty

NIT Kurukshetra (NITK) like most of the other government institutions of higher education was faced with the problem of not having enough number of regular faculties. As a result, the institute was somehow managing with faculty on contract basis for a number of years. In fact, in the last couple of years, it reached a stage when there was more contract faculty than regular faculty in the institute. On his second visit to NITK, President Pranab Mukherji, who is also the visitor to all NITs, has in his recent speeches pointed out that the lack of regular faculty in institutions of higher learning was seriously hampering the quality of education. He has urged all NITs to take early steps in recruiting regular faculty. NIT Kurukshetra is among the first NITs to have taken steps in meeting the directive of the President.
