Congress’ newly-appointed Punjab party affairs’ in-charge Asha Kumari on Friday declared that the party will fight unitedly under Capt Amarinder Singh’s leadership, and will win more than 100 seats in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
Kumari, who was addressing the media outside the Darbar Sahib after paying obeisance, said that the people have made their mind to vote for the Congress party.
“They are fed up from the SAD-BJP combine and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) both,” said Kumari, who was accompanied by the leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Charanjit Singh Channi and MlA Dr Raj Kumar Verka and party’s local leaders.
She said that the AAP leadership is so desperate to grab the power in Punjab that they are compromising on any principles actually laid down by their own party.
lambasting on the State and the central leadership of AAP, Channi said that after Navjot Sidhu resigned from the Rajya Sabha membership, there has been big unrest among the AAP leadership of the State, which is very evident from the daily news statements.
“All the state leaders are opposing the inclusion of Sidhu in AAP stating various reasons and even blaming him for his past also,” he said.
He added, “Today, it is clear in front of the people of Punjab that the leaders like Sucha Singh Chottepur and Bhagwant Mann are only looking at grabbing the power in Punjab and for achieving it, they can even blame anybody.”
Channi said that the people of Punjab have seen the five-year rule of the Congress party in Punjab under the able leadership of Capt Amarinder and now again they will vote for the Congress party.
