Cong nominees to hold rallies before filing nominations

Congress nominees—Deepender Hooda from Rohtak and Shurti Choudhry from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh —would put up a show of strength by organising rallies in their home towns before filling nomination papers.

Sources in the Congress said Shruti Choudhry would hold a rally at Kirori Mal Park in Bhiwani while Deepender’s ‘Naamankan (nomination) Rally’ would be organised in Rohtak on March 21. Both the Congress nominees would file their nomination papers subsequent to the rallies on the same day.

Since Deepender has been on bed rest for last one month due to a spinal problem, his mother Asha Hooda along with MlAs of all the nine Assembly segments, which come under the Rohtak parliamentary constituency, has already taken charge of the poll campaign. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda himself has also addressed a public meeting in Rohtak to invite the people for ‘Naamankan Rally’ to ensure massive gathering at the rally.

“The rally aims at providing a pubic platform to Deepender for making emotional appeal to the people to get their support and votes in the coming lok Sabha polls. The doctors have advised Deepender to stay away from canvassing, so he will not be able to campaign after the rally,” said  sources, adding that it would be the first public appearance of Deepender after over a month.

Similarly, Shruti Choudhry and her mother Kiran Choudhry, Haryana Public- Health Minister, have also persistently been holding public meetings in the rural areas since the declaration of the lok Sabha polls. Both the leaders have so far covered over 100 villages in Bhiwani and Mahendragarh districts.
