Political battle is being fought on Twitter in Haryana. After stirring up a controversy with his latest tweet, Haryana Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday has found a strong support from the Opposition.

Senior Congress leader and former State Minister Captain Ajay Yadav in his tweet supported Vij saying, “I congratulate Anil Vij for his fight against centralisation of power by Chief Minister of Haryana as I also faced the same situation under the Hooda regime.”

“I appreciate the bold statement by Anil Vij Health Minister Haryana, BJP should create their own leaders rather import leaders as done in Delhi,” Yadav said in his second tweet lending support to Vij.

A day before, the outspoken Minister Vij created quite a buzz with his tweet, “Thank You Chief Minister For Taking Keen Interest into My Departments. I am Relaxed.” The tweet hinted at his displeasure over Chief Minister Manohar lal showing “interest” in his departments.

The tweet came a day after Khattar had launched the State Government’s ‘Khelega Haryana-Badega Haryana’ campaign at Moti lal Nehru Sports School in Sonipat district on Sunday. The CM had even participated in a symbolic marathon run. Vij was not present at both the events.

Since the formation of BJP-led State Government in Haryana, Vij has remained in the limelight due to his working style and his tweets. In the past one month, he has posted a number of tweets hinting at his displeasure over the working of BJP Government in the State.

Just like Vij, Yadav, who is a six-time Congress MlA had raised his voice against policy of “lopsided development” during the Congress regime under former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Yadav had also quit twice as Minister, but reviewed his decision after being reapproached by Hooda.

Vij has also remained vocal about his opinion on various issues. Taking a dig, without referring to anyone, at his own government, Vij, in another tweet, had said that he was not in politics to push the cart of the Congress party. This was linked to his being upset that the BJP was following too many policies of the previous Congress Government in Haryana.

Previously, the five-time member of legislative assembly had in a tweet insinuated that efforts were on to make him change his style of functioning. On completion of the 100 days of BJP Government in Haryana, he had tweeted, “Some people want to stop me from working in my own way, but they will never succeed. I will continue to work in my own style.”

After BJP’s humiliating defeat in Delhi Assembly polls, the senior party leader had posted on Twitter, “If the party had concentrated on building leaders rather than importing them, then this would not have been the position of the party in Delhi.”

In another tweet later, he had said: “There are many obstacles in politics in every step. I have not named anyone. I had just expressed my resolve to work to mark the 100 days of the Government. I will crush all such obstacles and move on.”

Vij, a veteran and well-known BJP leader who represents the Ambala Assembly seat, was one of the top contenders for the Chief Minister’s post. However, the BJP chose Khattar, a first-time legislator and former RSS ideologue.
