After the Supreme Court pulled up the Manohar lal Khattar Government for granting mining lease to firm that did not meet criteria, the Congress has lashed out at the Haryana Government for allegedly indulging in corruption.
Haryana ClP leader Kiran Choudhry and MlA Karan Dalal on Thursday slammed the Haryana Government saying that on one hand, the BJP claimed of zero tolerance against corruption, and on the other hand, it indulged in corrupt practices.
Karan Dalal, while talking to mediapersons said Chief Minister Manohar lal should resign as his claims of zero tolerance against corruption proved false. He would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strict action against Haryana Government for the mining scam, he added.
Kiran Choudhry said the Apex Court observations in the mining case showed the true face of Khattar Government and how the Government was helping some people for influencing the system to violate the laws.
Reacting to the Congress’ allegations, Haryana State BJP media in-charge, Rajiv Jain, has claimed the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Dadam quarry in Bhiwani district is a major setback for the Congress, which protects the mining mafia.
Notably, the Supreme Court has severely criticised the manner in which “influence in high places’ was used to subvert law regarding grant of mining lease in Haryana.
The issue of the Dadam Village stone mine had reached Supreme Court last month after the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in its June 1 judgment, had upheld the cancellation of permission granted to Sunder Marketing Associates (SMA) to work alone on the mining project with the transfer of project partner Karamjeet Singh and Company limited (KJSl)’s 51 percent share to the former.
The SC has termed it “a classic case” of use of influence to violate the law and get a benefit that would ordinarily not be granted to anybody else.
