The Congress high command has asked the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) to submit a report on fresh allegations of corruption against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

HPCC president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will soon be meeting central leaders with the report having details of possible ramifications due the allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister. Party sources said that the Congress high command has asked the PCC to prepare a report on the allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister levelled by the Opposition and its possible effect during 2014-lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, a group of dissident leaders is camping at Delhi and is briefing the central leadership about possible political ramification due to corruption allegations against the Chief Minister. Some leaders are of the view that the Congress may face a tough challenge due to corruption allegations in 2014-lok Sabha polls, if some apt decision is not taken on change of guards at the earliest.

The BJP has upped the ante against the Chief Minister demanding that he has no right to continue in office. BJP general secretary Rajiv Bindal said that Virbhadra Singh’s statement that he will quit office if allegations against him are proven right is just eyewash. “He wants to stay in office just to put a lid on his wrong doings. Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a phase of anarchy, where the Chief Minister is behaving like a dictator,” said Bindal.

“Everyday new allegations are coming to fore against the Chief Minister and facts were deliberately concealed in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his parliamentarian wife Pratibha Singh,” said Bindal.
