Senior Congress leader and AICC media incharge, Randeep Singh Surjewala on Monday said that everyday expose in the ‘cash for jobs’ scam in HSSC and statements of those arrested now establish deep linkages of the bribe takers and middlemen with those in the highest echelons of power.
Connection to the chairman/members/secretary of Staff Selection Commission as also with higher-ups in the Police/Finance/Health Departments are tumbling out by the minute. In case, a fair investigation is conducted, the ‘big fish’ in the government would definitely be exposed, Surjewala claimed.
In a statement issued, Surjewala stated that multiple layers of the sinister jobs recruitment and bribery scams are yet to be unveiled and the real culprits and kingpins are still escaping the clutches of law with the tacit support of BJP Government.
He said that how can the police investigate the linkages with either the office of the Chief Minister or those sitting in the government or those in the hierarchy of Police or Finance departmentsIJ
He added that if Chief Minister’s claims of transparency and accountability are genuine, why is he running shy of disbanding the Staff Selection Commission and ordering an enquiry through two sitting Judges of the High Court of Punjab & HaryanaIJ
Referring to multiple news reports on the jobs scam, Surjewala said that it appears, extra marks were given to choose few in order to ensure selection.
