Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa on Monday asked the authorities concerned to expedite the matter of arbitration of Jalandhar highway besides intensifying the repair work of Hoshiarpur-Chinttpurni road to facilitate daily thousands of commuters.
The Minister, holding a meeting of officials to take stock of arbitration cases and pending issues of roads and Adampur flyover, said that repair and maintenance issues on these stretches should be taken on priority as there was heavy volume of traffic on these roads.
Accompanied by local MLA Raman Arora, Divisional Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, and other officials concerned, the Minister directed that the road condition in Adampur should be rectified as early as possible.
He pointed out that the Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road was a busy one as people in large number visit the shrine via this route. He instructed the officials to expedite the proceedings in this regard so that the needful repair or work could be initiated and accomplished in a time bound manner.
Divisional Commissioner Sapra apprised the Minister that the remaining work on these roads would be taken on priority. The executing agencies are being instructed to get the repair and other works completed within a minimal time frame, she added.
