After the lapse of special industrial package earlier this year, Himachal Pradesh is making desperate attempts to get some fresh industrial package to attract investments and industries in the State.
In a written reply to the question asked by BJP MlA Ravinder Singh Ravi, State industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri said “Chief Minister has written three letters to the Prime Minister, the finance minister and the commerce minister; and had pleaded to extend State’s special industrial package till 2020, as the State is a special category State,” added Agnihotri.
Agnihotri said that commerce minister Anand Sharma has responded on the issue and has assured of the consideration of State’s demand. He said the Central Government might extend some special incentives like capital investment subsidy.
The minister said the Government at its own was trying to win over the confidence of the investors and industrialists and we have found many investors are keen to invest in the State.
“The Government has decided to help investors by not only getting time-bound clearances but also grant approvals from different departments within a specified timeframe of 90 days,” he said.
Agnihotri said even after the expiry of the Central Government’s industrial package the industrial houses were showing interest to invest in the State.
