Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Monday said that the accused in Rohtak rape-cum-murder case should get stringent punishment. The Chief Minister while interacting with the media persons at Surajkund said that as it was a blind case, hence, it took nine days to arrest the accused. The police has acted promptly in the incident, he added.
On being asked about the quantum of sentence to these accused, he said that they have committed a heinous crime and therefore, they should get stringent punishment. He said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate this case, under which seven teams were further constituted. All out efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused and solve this case, he added. About the lapses by Police into the case, the Chief Minister added that in case of any lapses, the guilty police personnel would not be spared.
