Terming as “unfortunate” the attack on a Sikh family in Gujarat’s Bhuj district, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal on Wednesday said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would take up the matter with his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press conference, Sukhbit reiterated the SAD's resolve to extend full security to Sikh families based in other States. “We are already in touch with Modi. Punjab CM would speak to him in this regard and adequate steps would be taken for the safety of Sikh families settled in other states,” he added.
later addressing a rally, Sukhbir gave a clarion call to the entire rank and file of SAD and Bhartiya Janta Party to ensure crushing defeat of the Congress-led UPA in the ensuing general elections.
