A constable with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), posted at the Punjab Civil Secretariat here, was tested positive for the Coronavirus on Sunday.
The 33 years old CISF personnel is a resident of Daria village here.
Another case was reported from the Modern Housing Complex (MHC) in Manimajra, where a 46-year-old man is tested positive. The person is under treatment at Civil Hospital, Sector 6 Panchkula.
“Two family contacts of the CISF constable have been sampled while 21 people have been quarantined till evening,” stated Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.
"A 46 years old male resident of Manimajra has been diagnosed as positive for Covid-19 at Civil Hospital Sector 6, Panchkula. He had been sampled and admitted there. His two family contacts have been sampled at GMSH-16. Since he is under treatment at Panchkula, he is not counted as Chandigarh positive patient," the bulletin stated.
The total number of cases in Chandigarh stood at 314 while active cases are 35, the bulletin added.
