Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Sunday said channelisation of Swan river and its 73 tributaries had proved to be a boon to the people of Una District but the central share had not been given to the state since last financial year which had delayed the completion of this work.
I had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill the commitment and provide the remaining funds for undertaking the left out work of the channelisation as the State Government had already given its share, said the Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Dulehar.
He also announced sub-tehsil at Dulehar in Haroli constituency of Una district.
Virbhadra Singh said that it was well understood concept that the Opposition always criticises the ruling Government and also point out errors in governance, if any, in a healthy manner. He added “However, it seems that the State BJP legislators attend the assembly sessions merely for obtaining daily allowances and disrupting the proceedings of the House.”
It was surprising why they always indulge in bickering and mudslinging, he said, adding that he always welcome healthy criticism, which help in correcting the incorrect.
Virbhadra Singh said that the Congress believes in equal and overall development of the State and the Government equally distributes funds to all MlAs irrespective of party affiliations for undertaking development in their areas and for the very reason, the MlA grants had been enhanced to `one crore.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced opening of Government college at Khad, ITI at Pandoga, Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Kuthar Beet, Ayurveda hospital at Saloh and Agriculture Grading centre and Seed Store at Haroli.
He also announced up-gradation of Veterinary dispensary, Khad to Veterinary hospital, up-gradation of Government Middle School Thakaran to Government High School and to construct play Ground at Badheda Upper.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated flood Monitoring Centre and rest house at Ghaluwal completed with an outlay of rupees five crore, `15 crore Community Facility Centre at Bathu, Primary Health Centre at Panjawar completed with a cost of Rs two crore.
While talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the function, the Chief Minister said that the tall claims of BJP leader and former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal for declaring deadline that the present government would soon be dethroned before elections, was a mere speculation of Dhumal, a dream which would never be fulfilled.
He said that Dhumal was not an astrologer who could predict the future as the Congress Government would complete its full tenure of five years and the Congress would repeat itself in next general elections.
Himachal Industries and Public Relations Minister Mukesh Agnihotri thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating development projects worth Rs 50 crore in his constituency in a single day. He listed the developmental projects undertaken in Haroli to make it as a ‘Model assembly constituency’ of the State.
On the statements of state BJP leaders to stall the proceedings Vidhan Sabha, the Minister said that the sessions would continue as usual and the Budget would also be passed with full majority.
He urged that the BJP will play a positive role and co-operate in the left-out assembly sessions.
