'Changing of names reflects negative mindset of BJP'

PNS

Haryana Congress has flayed the BJP Government led by the Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar, for changing the name of Ch. Surender Singh Elephant Rehabilitation and Research Centre at Bansantur village in Yamunanagar district to Forest Department Elephant  Rehabilitation Centre.

Kiran Choudhry, leader of the Haryana Congress legislature Party (ClP) on Tuesday said that the people of the State will not tolerate all this. She demanded that the original name should be restored.

In a statement issued here, the former Excise and Taxation Minister and wife of late Ch. Surender Singh, said that the idea to construct this park was conceived by Ch Surender Singh.  “As Forest and Environment Minister in 2007, due to my persistent efforts, the Centre had sanctioned funds for the park which is one-of-its kind in Haryana and spread over 50 acres of land,” she said.

Choudhry said, “Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh has a negative mindset and the people will give a befitting reply to this. Instead of focusing on people's benefit issues, the BJP Government is trying to drive a sinister agenda which will fall flat on their face.”

“The decision to remove his name from that of the park betrays mean mentality of the BJP Government. It will bring only discredit to the BJP Government as the people know how the park was built and by whom,” she said.

Instead of focusing on solving people’s problems, the BJP Government is removing names of Former Ministers from parks, stadiums and old schemes. Earlier also, the Congress had opposed the Haryana Government’s move to rename sports complexes in the State and again it will not tolerate all such things, she added.
