The festival Dussehra, symbolising the victory of good over evil, was celebrated across the city on Sunday with great fervour and enthusiasm.

A large number of people thronged the celebration venues across the city to witness the victory of good over evil on Sunday evening. The festivity also marked the end of ten-day long Ramleela organised by various Ramleela Committees in the city at different venues. local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal was the chief guest at Dussehra Ground Sector 27 where hundreds of residents were present to be part of Dussehra celebrations. On the occasion, Bansal stressed upon the timeless message of victory of good over evil and reaffirms faith in following a noble and virtuous path.

This year, the astonishing feature of the Ramleela was its enactment by the artists invited from the Mathura and Vrindavan at Sector 27 Ramleela Ground. The Dusshera celebrations here began with a procession with lord Rama, lord laxman and Vaanar Sena alongwith numerous devotees donning colourful attire. The procession started from Sector 27 temple and marches towards the entire sector and finally culminated at the ground where the effigies of Ravana, Meghanada and Kumbhkarana were set on fire.

People cheered as the 55-feet tall effigy of Ravana was set ablaze by lord Rama. Thousands of people assembled at the ground to watch the celebrations. Before burning the effigies of demon king Ravana, Kumbhakarana and Meghnada an enactment of Ramleela was held. The places where Dussehra was celebrated included Sector 2, 24, 17, 43, 46, 34 among others.
