Captain's Govt exposed within a year: Sampla

PNS

Targeting the Congress-led Punjab Government for its failure to fulfil its pre-poll promises despite being one year in office, the SAD-BJP coalition on Sunday literally beat the dhol to expose the ruling party.

While attacking the Congress Government, Punjab BJP chief and the Union Minister Vijay Sampla could not mince his words to remind SAD president Sukhbir Badal that his party workers used to demean saffron brigade when they were in power.

Seeing Sampla’s resentment and in an apparent attempt to please its ally, Sukhbir described BJP as Akali Dal’s heart. “This alliance is essential for the peace and tranquility of  Punjab. Our life and death is with you,” Sukhbir told the BJP leaders present during the event. “There is no difference between the Akali Dal and the BJP in Punjab. And my relationship with Vijay Sampla is like a brother,” he said.

Further lashing out at the Congress Government, Sukhbir said that the State Government has failed completely. “They even do not have the money to pay salaries to the Government employees,” said Sukhbir while asking Sampla to urge the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct simultaneous polls.

Neither did they waived off farmers’ debt, nor they gave any jobs. They had even promised to give smart-phones to the state’s youth,” he added. Sampla, during his address, stated that the Central Government is considering to hold the lok Sabha and the Assembly elections simultaneously.

He said that the Congress Government, which came to power making false promises, stands exposed within one year. Sampla said that the Government under Capt Amarinder Singh is probably the first Government in the country which has started winding up welfare schemes instead of initiating new ones.

“The Congress Government has earned people’s hatred within the very first year of its term,” he said.

lambasting the Congress Government, Sampla said that while the Centre’s Modi Government presents its report card every year, the state government is hiding its report card like a “duffer student”.

Refuting Capt Amarinder’s claim of providing jobs to 1.62 lakh youths, Sampla said that the Congress Government embarrassed the youths by inviting them to Rozgar Melas and get them humiliated by private companies.

Terming the Congress as the number one enemy of the people of Punjab, Sukbhir said that the Congress had maligned the image of Punjab by labeling its youth as drug addicts. Questioning Capt Amarinder, he asked that if 70 percent of the youth in the State were addicted to drugs earlier, then how many youth have been admitted to drug rehabilitation centres during his one year tenure and action against how many drug smugglers has been takenIJ The people of Punjab are witness to the fact that “chitta” has become common during Congress regime while the much-needed sand and gravel has been concentrated into the hands of a few Congressmen, he said. Meanwhile, Akali leader Bikram Majithia, who has recently received a written apology from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said knowledge prevailed upon Kejriwal.

Majithia, who came to the public rally for the first time after the startling disclosure of the STF report, said that the elections to the lok Sabha-Vidhan Sabha should be held together. Describing Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Sidhu and Manpreet Badal as a Bunty-Babli, Majithia said that while one says that the treasury is empty, the other one says something else.

Majithia said that the Congressmen are themselves admitting to Government’s incompetence.

“The statements made by the Finance Minster and the local Bodies Minister prove that Capt Amarinder Singh has given up,” he said.
