Haryana Power Minister, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav has strongly refuted the allegations levelled against him regarding purchase of land in the neighbouring State of Himachal Pradesh saying that allegations are politically motivated and far from truth.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Capt Yadav said he was not personally involved in this case and had nothing to do with the power of attorney which was being highlighted. The allegations were being levelled against him just to malign his political image, he said. He said it was through media that he came to know about the notice issued to him by HP High Court, but he had made it clear that he has not so far received any notice in this regard. He would be able to make any further statement on this issue only after going through the notice, he added. The Minister said CBI has already investigated the issue.

When the land was purchased, BJP was in power in Himachal Pradesh. The entire matter was investigated by the Revenue department during the tenure of the then BJP Government in HP and he was found clean. He said in its report, the Revenue Department had clearly mentioned that Himachal Pradesh Government had accorded its approval for purchase of this land and no procedural irregularity was committed at any level for according permission by the Government for purchase of land. Apart from this, there was no evasion of stamp duty and registration fee while registering the documents pertaining to sale deed.
