BSF troopers make heroin haul near BoP

PNS

Border Security Force (BSF) troopers have recovered 5 kilo heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab.

A spokesperson of the BSF on Sunday said that the heroin, in five packets, was found near the border outpost (BoP) Barreke in Ferozepur sector. The heroin is said to be worth `25 crore in the international market. The packets were recovered after BSF troopers, on observing suspicious movement near the international border, challenged the smugglers. However, the smugglers managed to escape, taking advantage of darkness and foggy weather, said the spokesman. With the latest seizure, the BSF has seized over 330.77 kilo heroin this year.
