BSF recovers six heroin along border in Punjab

PNS

Border Security Force (BSF) troopers have recovered six kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, a BSF official said on Monday. The heroin, valued at Rs30 crore in the international market, was recovered near border outpost (BoP) Udhar Dhariwal, nearly 300 km from here, in the Amritsar sector early on Monday.

BSF Deputy Inspector General RS Kataria said that troopers noticed movement of Pakistani smugglers across the barbed wire fence late on Sunday night. The smugglers were challenged but they opened fire on the BSF party and escaped, taking advantage of the darkness and cultivation, leaving the contraband.
