Boycott NaMo's rally, Cong to Punjabis

PNS

Punjab Congress on Sunday urged all Punjabis particularly Sikhs to boycott BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Jagraon, in view of his “anti-Punjabis policy displacing thousands of Sikh farmers from Gujarat”.

Already, the State Congress has made it clear that it will protest at the rally of Modi on December 21. The party, giving a wake up call to the Sikhs of Punjab, has asked them not to fall prey to the “ulterior personal political gains” that the Badals are eyeing in inviting and honouring Modi. Congress also questioned the logic with which the Badal-duo is overjoyed in inviting a fascist and communal leader on the soil of Punjab, known for its secular credentials of our Gurus.

“It is a matter of shame and humiliation for the SAD which claims itself to be the sole champion of Sikh rights, to invite Modi and honour him on the soil of Punjab, at a time when he is hell bent in throwing out 50,000 Sikh farmers from Gujarat. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal should hang his head in shame before bestowing the title of ‘Sardar’ upon a fascist, communal and an anti-Sikh leader like Modi,” said Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
