BJP youth wing would organize protests in all major towns of Punjab on April 17, a day after Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh completes one month in the office.

“On April 17, BJP’s youth wing will organize protests in all the major towns of the state…After the protest, BJP youth wing members will submit memorandums to Deputy Commissioners reminding Capt Amarinder of his pre-poll promises like eradicating drugs in one month, unemployment allowance of Rs 2,500 for every youth, job for every household, smart phones for every youth, Harra Tractor Scheme for rural youth, One lakh taxis per annum for youth at subsidized rates, etc”, said Punjab Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president Shivbir Rajan on Tuesday.  The party also asked Capt Amarinder to either substantiate his and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's allegation that 78 percent Punjabis are drug addicts with evidence or tender an apology for defaming Punjabis.

“On April 16, Capt Amarinder Singh will complete one month in office and so will his oath of eradicating drugs from Punjab. With the civil and police administration at his disposal, by now, he must have gauged the magnitude of drug addiction in Punjab, hence an official statement is imperative,” said Punjab BJP secretary Vineet Joshi, while addressing BJYM’s state executive meet.
