BJP terms Rahul's visit as 'political tourism'

PNS

Terming Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Punjab as “political tourism”, the BJP on Thursday said that the Congress leader should have paid a visit to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims.

“This visit is nothing but sheer hypocrisy on his part as the Gandhi family, right from Rajiv to Sonia to Rahul, have been protecting the perpetrators of 1984 riots besides targeting and discriminating with Punjabis for decades,” said BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh.

“When did Rahul and for that matter the Congress turn sympathisers of the SikhsIJ” he asked.

Chugh claimed that it was very unfortunate that two Sikh brethren were killed in police firing at Behbal Kalan and everybody including the BJP has its sympathies with the affected families but why this public display of the Congress’ political motives.

“We know that the Congress is struggling to find ground across the country but stooping so lowIJ Using the killing of two Sikhs as a political tool cannot be appreciated in any manner,” he said.

Chugh also questioned Congress Deputy leader in the lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh over his recent remarks about Rahul Gandhi. “The same Amarinder who had termed Rahul as ‘immature’ and stated that he knew nothing about Punjab was today accompanying Rahul when he went across Punjab…Has Rahul baba matured nowIJ” he asked.
