BJP leader and former Transport Minister Thakur Mahinder Singh on Sunday castigated Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for the alleged mudslinging campaign against BJP leaders.
Referring to the statement of a revenue official Sl Bansal, appeared in a section of media that he had signed the registration of a small piece of land in favour of sons of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, when he was posted as Tehsildar in Dharamsala in 2008, Bansal categorically denied any illegality in the registration deed. He said that the sale deeds were “perfect, legal and in order” and that there was nothing wrong in them.
The former Minister said the statement of revenue official had “unmasked” the real face of the Chief Minister, who according to him, could go to any extent in tarnishing the image of his opponents.
It was abominable, he regretted, that those who had illegally grabbed thousands of bighas of government land while in power were casting aspersion on honest persons like Dhumal in whose tenure Himachal progressed by leaps and bounds and the state got many awards from reputed national and internal agencies.
The BJP leader warned that those living in glass houses should abstain from throwing stone at the houses of others. He advised the Congress government to work for the welfare of the people and start the development works which had come to a grinding halt since Congress came to power.
He said the Government at present had deployed the entire bureaucracy in fabricating false cases against the leaders of the opposition and those who did not want to suppress the voice of their conscience were suffering from nightmarish mental agonies, he alleged.
