Three BJP MlAs of Mandi district and former ministers, Thakur Gulab Singh, Jail Ram Thakur and Mahender Singh Thakur have assailed the opponents of demonetisation claiming that this step has been lauded by the vast majority of the people of the country.

In a joint statement, the three BJP leaders said that during Congress led UPA rule, people were fed up with scams and mega scams.

They said needless to mention that most of the leaders raising hue and cry over demonetisation were allegedly holders of black money and were feeling like a fish out of water. They asserted that the whole country was solidly behind the Prime Minister and urged him to crush with an iron hand the scourge of black money in the country to alleviate poverty and usher in an era of prosperity.

Even in a small town like Mandi there has been a silver line as a large number of consumers who used to do cash purchases of necessities of life have now switch over cash less transactions, they added.

The BJP leaders said the poor and middle class are facing some hardships, but are happy with the revolutionary measure of the Government to have twisted tail of the rich, black marketers and exploiters who were running a parallel economy in the country.
