BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit to Hisar on January 9 has been postponed due to his busy schedule.

Shah was scheduled to visit Hisar to review the poll preparedness in the state in view of 2019 general polls. The party president is now likely to visit Hisar on January 13, said a party leader.

The BJP will hold its two-day national council meeting beginning January 11 in the national capital, which would be attended by all ranks and files of BJP. The party president is likely to visit the state after this meeting, he said. Notably, district party presidents and party office bearers in Rohtak, Hisar and Sirsa Lok Sabha constituencies were directed to attend Hisar’s meeting convened by Shah.

The party had lost on three Lok Sabha seats in 2014 namely Rohtak, Hisar and Sirsa.

In 2014 elections, the BJP had contested eight seats out of 10 and left Hisar and Sirsa to its alliance partner, Haryana Janhit Congress of former CM Bhajan Lal’s son Kuldeep Bishnoi.
