Just four days before the electoral verdict of the people of Himachal Pradesh comes out, the BJP has convened a  meeting of all its candidates on Thursday. The meeting would be held at Bilaspur, where all 68 candidates of the party who contested the assembly elections would be present.

BJP state unit president Satpal Singh Satti told media at Una that Himachal BJP In-charge Ram lal Thakur would be present in the meeting besides all the senior leaders, MPs and Vidhan Sabha candidates of the party.

He said that that the meeting had been called to chalk out the strategy for the post counting situation in the state as the party was confident of getting a comfortable majority. He said the results of the elections were to come out on December 18 and party leaders were of the view that party should be ready with a strategy for the post counting situation in the state.

Replying to a query about party’s strategy for including winning independents in the government, Satti said that the party was open to include those independents who fall in line with the party strategy.

He said BJP will form government under Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and bringing the state economy back on track. Satti said that in the last five years, Congress had derailed the state economy with its mismanagement and corrupt rule.

Party insiders said BJP would consider all options in the meeting which includes the option of taking support of independents if it misses the majority mark by some seats.

In case the party secures full majority, the strategy to form new government and possible cabinet are also likely to be considered in Thursday's meeting.
