Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa, addressing a series of election meetings during his tour of Nawanshahr, Ropar, and Mohali districts, asked the voters not to be lured by “catchy” statements and “false” promises being made by SAD-BJP Government.

“For the last six years, SAD-BJP Government is surviving on press statements and repeating same set of promises every six months,” he said.

Bajwa said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal were working on the premise of Joseph Goebbels, propaganda minister of Adolf Hitler, who said, “if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”.

Waiving copy of SAD election manifesto, Bajwa blamed Badal for hoodwinking the poor and Dalit people by promising to increase the compensation under Shagun Scheme, old age pension, pensions to handicaps and widows.
