Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal holds himself competitive enough to be awarded with the State’s highest sports award. In his unique style, Badal said: “Politics is the most difficult game, where you have to be cautious every minute for survival. At least, I also deserved a Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award in the ‘game of politics’ for being Chief Minister of Punjab for five terms.” He also regretted increasing vendetta in politics, where leaders of other parties were being viewed as enemies. “I fail to understand today’s politics where brother opposes brother in politics — it has polluted the sacred relationship of siblings. We, the politicians of old school, don’t understand this degeneration in polity.”
