Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has asked the ludhiana Deputy Commissioner to look into the incident where two brothers were killed by the Punjab police cops in Jamalpur area.
Badal has also asked the DC to submit the report in the matter, though any deadline has not yet been fixed. Only day before, Khanna police team allegedly gunned down two brothers wanted in an attempt to murder case at a house in Jamalpur area, and three policemen have booked in the matter.“Deputy Commissioner ludhiana has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a report,” said Badal who was in ludhiana on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the State Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa strongly condemned the incident, stating, “No bigger evidence is needed to prove that the law of jungle prevailed in Punjab and there is total breakdown of the chain of command. Those in power are dictating terms at every level in the State and no one is safe.”
He said that the contradictory versions put up by the police had exposed everything. He warned against politicisation of the police force saying that the cost to be paid by the state in the long run would be too heavy as the system had been totally wrecked.
