Atone wrongdoings by paying obeisance at Kurukshetra, BJP tells Kejriwal

PNS

Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday asked the Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal to atone his wrongdoings by paying obeisance at Kurukshetra and Vatican for comparing the party’s youth manifesto with Bhagvat Gita and Bible, respectively.

At the same time, the saffron party termed Kejriwal's announcement of performing ‘sewa’ (service) and apologizing at the Golden Temple — Sikhs’ holiest shrine — on July 18 as an “easy ploy to wash off his and AAP's unpardonable sins.

“It is good that Kejriwal has realized that putting a photo of Golden Temple with a ‘broom’ on party's Youth Manifesto released by him at Amritsar was a blunder, but the point he and the entire AAP leadership was pretending to forget was that AAP leader Ashish Khetan, in presence of Kejriwal and others, had equated party's manifesto not only with Guru Granth Sahib but also with the Gita and the Bible,” said BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh.

He said that the AAP’s “game-plan” to play religious card in Punjab has misfired as most of the AAP leaders are either outsiders or novices. He said that AAP now stands exposed and people have resolved to punish them whenever they get a chance to do so.

Chugh said that neither the so-called leaders imposed on the people of Punjab from Delhi and other states nor the new-found leadership of Punjab thought once before committing a huge blunder.

“Kejriwal could not gauge the seriousness of the issue and the feelings of people of various communities whose religious sentiments have been hurt. If he wanted to apologize, why delay it,” he asked.
