Industry body ASSOCHAM has suggested the newly formed State Government of Haryana to realign the strategic direction of ‘State Innovation Council’ to the emerging sunrise sectors like biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, contract research and manufacturing, information technology (IT) and information technology enabled services (ITeS), food processing, dairy and poultry farming as these sectors can create about 10 lakh jobs in the State during the course of next five years.

“Sizeable investments coming in to Haryana from multinational companies, large business houses, foreign investors, non-resident Indians and small scale entrepreneurs can be sustained if the state makes rapid strides in physical infrastructure development, continued emphasis on development of knowledge based industries, working along with community and balanced regional development,” said ASSOCHAM in a note submitted to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar.

“Haryana Government must take new initiatives to increase public private partnership (PPP) in several new areas like — achievement of universal primary education, promoting gender equality, reduction in child mortality, improvement of maternal health, combating diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability and developing a global partnership for development, including partnership with private sector and civil society in technological development,” said DS Rawat, national secretary general of ASSOCHAM.
