Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday stated that the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal should step down as Delhi Chief Minister.
“The approval of disqualification of 20 MlAs of AAP by the President has revealed that they were appointed Parliamentary Secretaries in an illegal and unconstitutional way. Now, it is time for Kejriwal to take the moral responsibility and step down as Chief Minister,” said SAD spokesman and former Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema.
He said that the decision has come at a right time when AAP government in Delhi has completed more than three years which were sufficient to deliver and perform and fulfill promises made in their election manifesto. Now, the by-election to these 20 seats will expose the hollow claims of governance as well as of development, he said.
