Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Surjit Kumar Jyani on Tuesday met the auxilliary nursing midwives (ANMs) sitting on fast unto death and assured them that he himself would pursue their case for regularisation with the Finance Department and thereafter with the Punjab Cabinet.
2211 ANM heads, appointed under the National Rural health Mission NRHM, had been sitting on fast unto death to press for their demands. They broke their fast on the Health Minister’s assurance, who also offered them juice on the occasion.
