Already discontinued use of red beacon: Rana

PNS

Amidst the controversy for “not parting away” with the red beacons atop Ministers’ vehicles, Punjab Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh on Wednesday made it clear that he was not opposed to the move.

At the same time, he also clarified that he discontinued use of beacon lights since the day it was decided by the Cabinet to do away with the same.

Rana Gurjeet, in a video clip, was seen saying that he would not give up red beacon as he got it after much effort. Referring to the same, Rana Gurjeet said that he had made the comment about the use of beacon lights “in a lighter vein and that too one day before it was decided by the cabinet that nobody will use the beacon lights”.

“As a minister, I am part of the cabinet decision and I am bound by it…Besides, I am bound by whatever is decided by our honourable Chief Minister,” he said.
